Ultrabreathe™ Respiratory Muscle Trainer

Product Code:    SZ-UB-BE01

Ultrabreathe™ is a highly effective inspiratory muscle trainer, providing an easy and convenient means of increasing the strength and durability of the respiratory muscles.

► Ultrabreathe™ ... the World's No 1 Selling Respiratory Trainer
► Breathing exerciser boosts respiratory performance
► Great for athletes and those suffer from shortness of breath
► Resistance easily adjusts for varying lung fitness levels
► Recommended use: 25 sharp inhalations, twice a day
► Compact, convenient, and safe
► Manufactured in the UK

Do you ever feel a shortness of breath from simply walking up a flight of stairs? Would you like to gain better lung stamina during vigorous workouts?

Thanks to the Ultrabreathe, you can relieve the symptoms of breathlessness by giving your lungs a daily workout from the comfort of the armchair. Just inhale through Ultrabreathe for a few minutes twice a day in a simple breathing pattern as shown in the instructions.

Ultrabreathe works on the principle of resistance. As you inhale, the resistance created makes your respiratory muscles work harder, and the harder they work the stronger and more durable they become. As your breathing power improves, Ultrabreathe can be gradually adjusted to provide more resistance with just the twist of a knob. It can even help reduce the feeling of breathlessness from some lung diseases such as asthma, bronchitis and emphysema.

Doctors have been prescribing big, bulky breathing devices for post-surgery patients to increase their lung power for years. Ultrabreathe gives you the same effects, but is so small and compact you can take it with you to exercise your lungs wherever you are.

Athletes who want to boost their performance and folks who suffer from breathlessness can all benefit from using this ingenious breathing exerciser. Whether you're exercising for cardio fitness, sports or not at all, you'll breathe deeper and more easily than ever. Within a month you will be on your way to feeling the wonderful effects of strong, healthy lungs!
The patented Ultrabreathe is used by athletes, sportspeople, singers and musicians the world over to supercharge their inspiratory muscles.

Using the principle of resistance training there are two key ways the Ultrabreathe can help give you the edge:

Warm up: Supplement your usual routine prior to full body workout or competition - traditional techniques tend to ignore the breathing muscles.

Performance: Follow our training regime for just 5 minutes per day to boost pulmonary capacity and endurance. Increase the resistance as lung function improves - and take advantage of the patented adjustable valve system which lets you select the moment resistance is experienced on inhalation.
► After positioning the soft mouthpiece between the teeth and gums and biting down to create an airtight seal, the user breathes in sharply and continues to breathe in hard for as long as possible.

► Then the breath is slowly exhaled. When repeated 25 times, twice daily, for at least a month, the exercises should noticeably increase breathing strength.

► As improvement occurs, the user can increase resistance by simply turning one or both parts of the device: the end cap (which holds a lightweight ball) and the valve sleeve.
Did you know that recent research indicates a connection between trained respiratory muscles and reduced lactate levels?

Boutellier et al found that: - respiratory training significantly increased the endurance time of respiratory muscles - respiratory trained subjects had lost the sensation of breathlessness - blood lactate concentrations were reduced during post training exercise.

In conclusion they speculate, "that the reduction in blood lactate concentration was most likely caused by an improved lactate uptake by the trained respiratory muscles."(1998, Med Sci Sports Exerc 1998, Eur Jour Appl Physiol 1999)

Nasaline is a drug-free nasal rinsing system designed by a team of Swedish ear, nose, and throat specialists. With the simple use of saline solution, Nasaline washes away unwanted mucous, crusty secretions or allergens. It provides relief from symptoms associated with sinus, allergies, colds, or the flu.

► For children under 12, we recommend Nasaline Junior
► For newborn and toddler, we recommend Baby NäsaKleen
► Daily or routine nasal hygiene
► Prevention of sinus related infections
► Drug-free relief from pregnancy congestion

Nasaline nasal rinsing system is an easy, comfortable and effective method to rinse the nasal passages with saline solution. Syringe delivery system allows user to controls the flow and pressure of the saline solution for optimum comfort and effectiveness. Patented technology with silicone tip/applicator to allow for an easy and gentle rinsing experience.

Nasaline was invented by a team of Swedish ear, nose, and throat specialists. Working with sinus patients over the years, these specialists recognized a need for a nasal irrigation device that was effective, easy to use, and affordable. For additional information or if you have any questions or comments for the entrepreneurs, please visit their European web site at www.entpro.com.
Nasaline is a patented nasal rinsing system that consists of a 2 oz. syringe, a silicone tip, saline and a storage/travel case. The silicone tip was designed to fit most noses in such a way as to completely seal the nostril opening. The channel inside the tip is formed in the shape of an hourglass, producing a gentle swirl stream when the saline solution enters the nose. The silicone tip does not contain latex and is safe for direct contact with the skin.

The Nasaline syringe delivery system has many advantages:
Allows the user to control the flow and pressure for optimum safety, comfort and effectiveness
Protects against backflow if user slows down or stops during the rinsing process
Easy to clean to prevent bacterial buildup

The patented silicone tip is:
Designed to produce a gentle and effective swirl when the saline solution enters the nose.
Made of medical grade silicone without any harmful plastic manufacturing components
1. Mix 1 packet (1/2 teaspoon) of Nasaline salt into 1 cup (8 ounces) of warm distilled or sterilized water (ca 2.5 grams salt into 1/4 liter water). Stir to dissolve the salt.

2. Extract the saline solution into the Nasaline applicator. Nasaline - Nasal Irrigation System - Push saline solution into the nostrilNasaline - Nasal Irrigation System - Saline solution fills the nasal cavity.

3a. Stand (or sit) slightly bent over a bathroom sink, washbasin, or bathtub. Put the silicone tip against the nose so that it completely seals the nostril. Slowly push the saline solution up into the nostril. Breathe normally (or say aaah...) through the mouth and refrain from swallowing.

3b. When the saline solution reaches the back of the nasal cavity, the palate closes automatically by reflex. The saline solution fills the nasal cavity and proceeds to pour out of the other nostril as it brings along unwanted mucus and crusty secretions.

3c. Occasionally, some of the saline solution can trickle down the throat. This is not harmful. A proper flushing should take anywhere from 3-7 seconds per nostril depending on level of congestion, narrowness of ones nasal passages or personal preference. Repeat the process for the other nostril.

4. Use a tissue to gently blow out any remaining saline solution in the nose. Some of the saline solution can remain in the nose and trickle out a few hours later. Tilting your head forward and turning side to side immediately after flushing can prevent this. If you are severely congested, the saline solution can reach the sinus channels and can occasionally drip out of the eyes. This is not harmful and can be prevented by flushing more slowly.

Dosage:
Use two(2) full syringes twice in each nostril per rinsing session. Rinse once or twice daily or as recommended by your doctor.

Cleaning:
Remove the tip, pull out the plunger and flush all 3 parts with warm water. The Nasaline applicator can also be cleaned with a mild dishwashing detergent. Dry all 3 parts. Once dry, keep the Nasaline unit stored with the plunger inserted into the cylinder to prevent the rubber surrounding the plunger from swelling.

Important Facts about the Saline Solution:
Use distilled or sterilized water. The saline solution should be at or close to body temperature. Once mixed, use the saline solution within 24 hours or discard. The saline solution has the same salt content as the human body (0.9%) - this is called a physiological (or isotonic) saline solution.

Special Note:
The proper salt/water ratio of the saline solution is VERY IMPORTANT! If too much salt is used (hypertonic), slight stinging may be felt. In some cases this may be desirable in order to shrink/reduce the swelling of the mucous membranes - but this may also dry them out if used for an extended period of time. If less than the prescribed amount of salt is used (hypotonic), a stinging sensation may also be felt and it may swell the mucous membranes. This is not desirable, as you may feel somewhat more congested than you did prior to rinsing.

Nasaline Salt does not contain any additives or preservatives. We do not recommend using regular iodized table salt as the iodine may cause allergic reactions. We also do not recommend using sea salt which may contain algae or pollen.
Can I use Nasaline if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Nasaline can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. In fact, since pregnant women should not be taking drugs for pregnancy congestion, nasal irrigation with saline solution is considered one of the best healthy natural alternatives to many over the counter and prescription drugs.

Who can use Nasaline?
Anyone 4 years old or older can use Nasaline, however, children from age 4 to age 12 should not use Nasaline without parental supervision. For children from age 4 to age 12, we suggest Nasaline Junior - a smaller unit- also to be used with parental supervision. For newborns or toddlers we recommend the Baby NäsaKleen - The Nasal Aspirator. http://www.sleepzone2u.com/2016/06/squip-baby-nasakleen-nasal-aspirator-kit.html

I've been using a Neti Pot for years, how is Nasaline different from the Neti Pot?
With Nasaline, the user actually controls the amount of pressure used, depending on the level of congestion. The patented silicon tip provides for a complete seal to the nostril, preventing any saline solution from pouring back through the same nostril for a more effective nasal rinse. Also, because you don't rely on gravity with Nasaline (as with a Neti Pot), you don't have to tilt your head awkwardly to the side, you simply stand upright, leaning slightly forward over your sink.

When making the saline solution, why is the salt-to-water ratio so important?
The saline solution has the same salt content as the human body (0.9%) - this is called a physiological (or isotonic) saline solution. Note: The proper salt/water ratio of the saline solution is VERY IMPORTANT!

Is the tip safe for contact with the skin?
The ENTIRE Nasaline applicator is latex-free and completely safe as it was specifically designed for direct contact with the skin.

What type of water should I use?
Use distilled or sterilized water. The saline solution should be at or close to body temperature. Once mixed, use the saline solution within 24 hours or discard.

Can I use ordinary table salt?
You can use ordinary salt, but if you are planning to use Nasaline for an extended period of time, you should use salt that is non-iodized and free of preservatives or anti-caking agents – additives that have been known to produce allergic reactions. We recommend using Nasaline Salt, which is 99.99% purified and completely free of additives.

Can I use sea salt to irrigate my nasal passages?
Although typically safe for eating, sea salts are generally not clean and should not be used for nasal irrigation. Some sea salts have been known to contain algae - which could result in allergic reactions.

What dosage should I use for Nasaline?
Use two(2) full syringes twice in each nostril per rinsing session. Rinse once or twice daily or as recommended by your doctor.

How should I clean Nasaline?
Remove the tip, pull out the plunger and flush all 3 parts with warm water. The Nasaline applicator can also be cleaned with a mild dishwashing detergent. Dry all 3 parts. Once dry, keep the Nasaline unit stored with the plunger inserted into the cylinder to prevent the rubber surrounding the plunger from swelling.

Where and how should I store Nasaline?
Nasaline should be stored in a dry environment at room temperature. We recommend that you store the Nasaline applicator with the plunger inserted into the cylinder to prevent the rubber surrounding the plunger from swelling.
Includes: Irrigator, 10 saline packets, and storage/travel case

Nasaline consists of a 2 oz. syringe and a silicone tip. Simply fill the Nasaline syringe with saline solution and experience drug-free relief from everyday nasal and sinus ailments.

The Nasaline product is entirely latex-free.

Squip Baby NäsaKleen® Nasal Aspirator Kit

Product Code:    SZ-SQ-BBNK

The easy, comfortable, and safe method to rid small noses of excess mucus so that your baby can breathe, eat and sleep better! Baby NäsaKleen can be safely used on newborns, infants, toddlers and small children.

► Can be used on newborns, infants, toddlers and small children
► For age 4 and above, we recommend NäsaKleen Squeezie or Nasaline
► Clear little noses - Easily gently and effectively
► All parts of Baby NäsaKleen are DEHP/phthalate, BPA and latex-free
► Includes Nasal aspirator, 50 hygiene replacement filters, travel storage case & user instruction

Baby NäsaKleen is a nasal aspirator used to gently remove excess mucus from babies' noses. Baby NäsaKleen is particularly recommended prior to feeding your baby or before sleeping.

Baby NäsaKleen consists of a silicone nozzle, a plastic chamber with a hygiene filter, a tube and mouthpiece. The mucous is aspirated by placing the nozzle slightly inside the baby's nose and gently applying suction through the mouthpiece.

Unlike traditional baby bulb syringes or electrical aspirators, Baby NäsaKleen gives the parent continuous and complete control of the suction process for maximum safety, comfort and effectiveness.

Baby NäsaKleen can safely be used on newborns, infants, and small children.
The nozzle is made of latex-free medical-grade silicone - the safest and most comfortable material for use on babies’ little noses!

All parts of Baby NäsaKleen are DEHP/phthalate, BPA and latex-free.
Before using Baby NäsaKleen on your child, test the suction on your hand/finger to familiarize yourself with the unit and the strength of the suction.

1. Always wash your hands before and after using the Baby NäsaKleen product.

2. Insert a hygiene filter into the two part chamber unit - tighten both parts securely. (The unit does not come assembled with a filter already placed inside)!

3. Find a comfortable setting - there are several ways to position your baby. One suggestion is to lay her in your lap, face up with her head gently secured between your knees - baby's feet on either side of your waist. Let her head drop backward slightly. Another way is to simply lay her in a bed or crib - with you standing next to her.

4. Place the nozzle slightly inside the baby’s nostril and gently apply suction with your mouth through the mouthpiece. For best result, point the nozzle straight back (towards neck) and not upward (towards eyes)! The mucus will collect in the transparent chamber. The chamber contains a hygiene filter to prevent any mucus from leaving the chamber or any bacteria infecting the parent. Repeat the process with the other nostril if needed.

5. If the mucus is particularly dry or sticky we recommend that you apply saline solution into the nostrils before aspirating.

6. Clean unit and discard filter.

Do not use Baby NäsaKleen more than 3-4 times per day unless directed by your physician. Keep in mind that aspirating your baby’s nose should be a gentle process – and when done correctly, it actually feels good for the baby. The entire process should take less than 60 seconds. If your baby resists vigorously, stop the process and try again later. Baby NäsaKleen should only be used on babies by an adult/parent.

Cleaning:
Disassemble and wash all parts with soap and warm water. The foam filter should be changed after every use.

Storage:
Store in a dry environment at room temperature. Be sure to allow all parts to dry completely when not in use.
Is Baby NäsaKleen made of safe materials?
Yes - All parts of Baby NäsaKleen are BPA, DEHP/phthalate, and latex-free.

Is Baby NäsaKleen safe to use on newborns?
Yes – Baby NäsaKleen is safe to use on newborns, infants and small children. My baby is very stuffy, but nothing comes out when I aspirate her. Try applying a few drops of saline in each nostril - wait for a few moments and then aspirate again.

Caution: Do not use saline drops for more than four consecutive days as it may dry out the mucous membranes.

Is it possible for me to contract my baby's cold when using Baby NäsaKleen?
No - The hygiene filter prevents mucus and bacteria transfer from child to user.

How is Baby NäsaKleen different than nasal bulb syringes or electrical aspirators?
The traditional bulb syringes are very hard to clean, which makes them susceptible to spread infection. Electrical aspirators typically have one suction mode, which makes it harder to control the suction – particularly when the level of suction required differs between babies.

How do I clean Baby NäsaKleen?
All parts should be disassembled and washed with soap and warm water – let air dry. The hygiene filter should be changed after each use.

Can you use the nasal aspirator more than once?
Yes, Baby NäsaKleen is designed for multiple use.
Kit Contains:
  • Nasal aspirator
  • Storage- travel case
  • Instructions (Eng./Esp.)
  • 50 hygiene replacement filters

Ultrabreathe™ Replacement Mouthpiece and Valve Ball Set

Product Code:    SZ-UB-SPARE

Set of Replacement Mouthpiece and valve ball for Ultrabreathe™

► Ultrabreathe™ ... the World's No 1 Selling Respiratory Trainer
► Breathing exerciser boosts respiratory performance
► Great for athletes and those suffer from shortness of breath
► Resistance easily adjusts for varying lung fitness levels
► Recommended use: 25 sharp inhalations, twice a day
► Compact, convenient, and safe
► Manufactured in the UK

Under “normal use” and for hygiene purpose, you should replace the mouthpiece and valve ball at least once per year.

For proper performance, always use genuine Ultrabreathe replacement parts.

Further details regarding clinical research into IMT (inspiratory muscle training) can be found by clicking  here.
Patented Inspiratory Muscle Training (IMT) device. CE marked and registered with the UK MHRA and FDA as a Class 1 Medical Device and is included on the NHS Drug Tariff. Manufactured in the UK.

As such, if you are on medication, suffer from a medical condition (asthma for example), or are uncertain as to whether the Ultrabreathe is suitable for you, then you should consult your doctor prior to commencing training. Consult the above instructions for proper fit.

Although hearing protectors can be recommended for protection against the harmful effects of impulsive noise, the Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is based on the attenuation of continuous noise and may not be an accurate indicator of the protection attainable against impulsive noise such as gunfire. The Noise Reduction (NRR) calculated from the attenuation data is 32dB. Ear plugs must be properly fitted to attenuate noise effectively. Refer to instructions.
